Yes, but if you don’t have ballet shoes and would like to try a class, bring along a pair of old socks. Once you are certain you are going to continue on, you can go to The Ballet Shop on Main Rd Rondebosch (next to the BP) and their trained shop assistants will fit you with the correct shoes.

There is no contract, so you are not locked into attending for months at a time. You only pay for a month at a time.

Do I need ballet shoes?
Am I too old and overweight?
All classes on the schedule cater to adults 18 years and older. All shapes and sizes welcome. Even if you have not exercised or taken a ballet class in 20 years.
Do I need to bring anything?
Sweat towel. Water, refreshments and all equipment is at the studio for you.
Do you offer private lessons?
Yes, Beginner ballet. Professional coaching, Elementary ballet and body conditioning.
Does the timetable ever change?
Yes, but not without a months notification at the studio.Timetable updates are posted at the studio to make you aware of any adjustments..
How do I join?
Please send your details on the contact form below along with the classes you would like to attend. A response will be sent with details and if there is availability for the desired session. There is a small enrolment for to fill out at your first class. R120 admin fee to join the studio.
How long are the classes?
All group ballet, 1 hour. Body Con during the week, 45 minutes. Saturday body Conditioning, 1 hour. Private sessions, 45 minutes.
How long does a contract last?
There is only a month to month package fee to pay. You may use this at your discretion. You are not locked in to a long term contract.
Must I bring my own exercise mat?
No. All the equipment you need is at the studio for you.Balls, mats, weights and therabands are provided for you.
Where do I park?
There is plenty of parking onsite. We are within the Meadowridge Shopping Centre complex.
What should I wear?
Anything you feel comfortable moving in. There are no dress requirements. If you would like to join a ballet class, leggings and a T-shirt are alternatives to leotard and skirt.
What happens if I miss a class?
You pay for a set number of classes per month so you are able to make a misses class up, anytime that suits you.
When can I start?
Any time that suits you. The first class is complimentary so you can get a feel for the studio obligation free. If the class is full you will be put on a waiting list for the next available place in the class. If you would like to join a ballet class, please let us know what level you would be most comfortable with.
Kerryn brings 28 years of experience to the studio, having spent the last 11 years within professional ballet.
From the Cape Town City Ballet Apprenticeship Programme and the Performers Certificate at the University of Cape Town, Kerryn joined Cape Town City Ballet with roles as Venus in Veronica Paepers “Orpheus in the Underworld”, the Snow Queen in the “Nutcracker”, leading Willis in “Giselle”, the pas de trios and Finances in “Swan Lake” and various other soloist roles.
After two successive tours in Ireland with “Queen at the Ballet in 2006/7, Kerryn made her debut in a principal role at the age of 22 in Veronica Paeper’s “The Merry Widow”.
After critical acclaim as Roxanna in Tango Nights, as principal in Sean Bovim’s new ballet company, she reappeared in the leading roles in Sean’s follow ups “Swing Time” and “Romeos Kiss”. With Adele Blank’s Free Flight Dance Company’s “Cotton Club” Kerryn’s featured tap, hip-hop and contemporary styles.
Returning to Cape Town City Ballet again in 2011, Kerryn performed in the Grahamstown National Arts Festival for the 5th time in “Swan Lake”. Kerryn was last seen in Robin Van Wyk’s “Italian Affair” as Stephanie.
